Shearling jackets

photo; whowhatwear.

These jackets are so cool and so in right now. I’d been craving for one for a while, but when I tried one on a couple of days ago I found out that it’s not me.. I’m not the leather-jacket kind of girl. I mean.. I love them.. but not on me.

Anyways.. I know about quite a few really expensive jackets, and they may be in better quality, but for a poor student(like me), it’s okay to have some cheaper alternatives like this one from Monki;

I actually think this one looks better than those in the first photo. But that’s just my opinion. What do you think about these jackets in general? I find it hard to believe that they will be in next year too, what do you think?

cheaper, but pretty much the same

I have this shoe addiction.. And I needed a pair of heels to use for this fall. My criteriums were; brown, simple, comfy, medium heeled, and season appropriate. As you all know, H&M has a lot of fantastic shoes;

I´ve been craving for these for some time now.. They are brown, comfy, medium heeled and all in all fabulous. But then I thought that there´s a lot going on with the laces and the colours. Then I saw these simple brown shoes with zippers.. They were cheaper, and I can wear them any day.

I ended up buying these simple brown shoes, and I feel that I´ve made the right choice. I saved 150NOK on buying them too, which is a big deal to me. I mean.. in my eyes, the shoes are pretty much the same.. Both met my criteriums, but this time the simple style caught me. They´re laying in my suitcase looking pretty, and I´m happy and not broke – can it get any better?

What do you think?

Antonio Marras

Do the style a cheaper way; This is like typical Antonio Marras, and it’s my favourite look,  so I found a way to do the style more me, and affordable.

It’s about stripes, layering and stockings.

I have put it together to match how I would have done it; Stripes both under and at the top – layering (t-shirt, blouse, cardigan). I took the skirt and the stockings in the same colour, and added a hat and a statement-necklace – Antonio Marras always has cute headpieces and details around the bust, so I went with that too.

What do you think? To much with both the t-shirt and the cardigan?

The perfect summer outfit

A floral cottondress styled with a cool leather-jacket, a studded belt, a shoulderbag and peep-toe heels! All of this makes the dress look less sugarsweet, which I like.

Shoulderbags are something everyone has to buy this year. It’s easy to wear because we don’t have to hold it all the time – it just hangs there. Peep-toe heels… I mean, a warm summer day and normal heels? The leather jacket has been in for some time now, so if you don’t have one, you have to buy one now. The studded belt is for people who don’t want to look too sweet.

I base the whole look on this faboulus cottondress from Zara. The florals are small and the shape of the dress is feminine and fitted.

I am a big fan of fringed leather jackets. The fringes are that little detail that can make a look complete. Here there are two choices, the cheap and the expensive one – Vintage jacket from Mint and the other one from Acne. If you don’t have a lot of money, you can buy the one from Mint, but if you’re the kind who rather go for expensive and long-lasting you can go for Acne.

Peep-toe shoes are so practical on a warm summerday. These are cheap from H&M and expensive from Hope. For summer I would say that the ones from H&M are most practical because of the “air holes” on the side, but those from Hope are definitely the coolest!

I mean.. Cheap from Pepe Jeans vs. Expensive from HTC, but can you see a big difference? It may be that the leather is better, but I would definitely go for the cheap one. It can’t be that big of a difference.

There’s nothing so say about the bag. This one from TopShop festival collection is the perfect one. I mean, you can go for a black one if you want;

From H&M and See By Chloè. But if you’re like me, and don’t want to go all black with accessories, you’ll go for the brown one. It’s all about how you like it.

What do you think?

Cheap but still cool

I figured I’d post something for us poor people, that can’t buy expensive designer clothes no matter how much we want it. Cheaper shops like h&m, lindex, topshop and zara often get their inspiration from big brands. Alexander McQueen:

Well, you don’t have to ruin yourself to look cool.  Tights from Ellos, dress from Bik Bok, jacket from TSH, dress from Topshop. I mean, you can find similar clothing to those on the catwalk everywhere – you just have to look for it.

I love Alexander McQueen graphic prints and sculptural pieces. I’m definately going to buy some pieces that looks like this. What to you think?
