Forals is one of the seasons biggest trends. Derek Lam and D&G had romance in focus – beautiful, bohemian summerdresses. Rodarte gave the floral-dresses sexy splits to make it a bit more edgy and… well, sexy. Marni went sporty with their florals and Balenciaga went for the rocker-chic. There are several floral-trends to go for, you just have to find yours.
I personally like the cute and romantic look you get when putting on a floral-dress, and the number floral-dresses in my closet are many. This is how I did it a couple days ago. This dress is very dark, and I don’t get that super-cute and romantic feeling, so I actually did black and florals. Not like me at all, but I think this worked;
You certainly don’t have to go all the way with a whole dress in florals, but maybe a bracelet or a bag does the trick? Here’s some items I’ve found and put together for you

While talking about the colour blocking, I felt like sharing this collage with you. I really don’t see myself going all the way with clothes in “spicy” colours, but I certainly would like to try using some really eye-catching accessories! Maybe some really cool shoes and a bag at the same time? Here’s what I would like to have in my closet-collection for this summer;
Sergio Rossi silk satin shoes
Jason Wu owl handbag
Yves Saint Laurent stamped jewelry
Jil Sander reversible belt
Bernhard Willhelm nailpolish
plain basket shopper

One of the trends seen on the catwalk for spring11 is the tie-dye or batik. These types of clothing are very cool because the pattern looks so random – it’s a piece of fabric that someone has just painted something on. I think it looks very casual and laid-back.
This trend has been seen on the catwalk; here from Proenza Schouler and Balmain.
I don’t own a single garment that’s tie-dyed, cuz I feel that for me… there’s too much going on. I actually can’t style it, but I think it looks soooo cool on people that wears it, and styles it good.

This year is all about using lots of colours – different colours – in your outfits. It´s all about the mixing, and not the matching now. Sportmax showed combination of pink and orange, while Jil Sander and Gucci went all the way out and was bold in their combinations. Fendi used one strong colour, and let the accessories break the outfit up.

Here´s some outfits that I get a lot of inspiration from, celebs are always someone to look to for inspiration;
The one and only Rihanna
and the faboulus Camilla Belle. Both wearing something that I love, and could wear anytime.
Yellow is one of many hot colours to wear this season. It’s difficult to pull of, and I don’t recommend going for an all yellow outfit – mix it with some black, denim, neutrals and white. Using yellow for your accessories is the safest way to go if your unsure.
Be sure that the yellow-tone you buy really suits you! Hold it up to your face, and ask someone is the easy thing to do. Here’s some garments and accessories I really like;
I would love to have a yellow dress – I have actually ordered one, can’t wait to show you!

As you all might know the 70s are back as never before. It´s discoinspired, crochet and fun patterns. The items to go for in this trend are jumpsuits, maxi-dresses and colours like brown, beige and orange – contrasts to these colours, purple and yellow, are also important factors. They manage to combine modernism with vintage styles so that a unique and stylish outfit is resulted.
The 70s has something different: the wide leg pants. These pants style looked hot and completely different from what people were used to, their comfort and style has maintained their popularity and have made their comeback. I am not a fan at all, though.
Bohemian styles such as peasant blouses, loose floor-grazing skirts, wide leg pants and colorful sweaters are characteristics of the 70s fashion style and these characteristics have been transposed into certain designer creations featured on the spring/summer 2011runway shows. In the end is all about playing with colours!
Lace is not just a detail, it´s a whole outfit. I have a lace dress from Vila myself, and it creates a very sweet and romantic look. I am a big fan of off-white lace, but it comes in so many different colours this year – red and black is most seen.
Lace was used in many different mediums and stylings. We saw 70′s bohemian lace from Andrew Gn, Ralph Lauren and Just Cavalli, tablecloth lace from Dolce and Gabbana, lingerie inspired lace from Nina Ricci and Zac Posen, and colored lace from Zac Posen and Christopher Kane. It is one of the sweetest and most romantic fabric trends. Still, with coulours black and red and transparent, the lace-style has become slightly more sexy and daring.
This is an outfit seen on the catwalk at Valentinos s/s11 runway show. It´s transparent and bold, more like a sexy lace look.
This is more a typical romantic look from Erdem.
This dress is actually in my closet, and it´s from Vila. You can have it in black too, but this white one is really a romantic dress, and with a pair of brown leggings it looks really great. Brown and off-white is so pretty together. This is the romantic look seen at the photo from Erdem.
A pair of black shorts from Topshop, perfect for a party. It´s not too cute, and is very rough. This is the sexy look from Valentino – if you want to go all the way, make it transparent.
A romantic Taylor Swift in a Reiss spring11 dress.
All the essentials for this years spring & summer;
1. The bikerjacket - Every girl needs to have one. With a floral dress, or just jeans, it spices up any outfit. When you use a floral dress, you often look very cute, and a jacket like this makes people see that there´s a “rocker-chic” inside of you. This one from TopShop is perfect;
2. The snake is here - Pants, blouses, shoes and purses. I am not the big fan of this type of pattern on clothing, but on accessories it´s perfect. I actually have a pair of shoes! It´s perfect for a black outfit.
3. The Little Hippie - This is what I will call the bohemian/etnic-trend, and I am the biggest fan. Indian-inspired necklaces and bracelets is something every girl must have, in my opinion.
4. 70´s pants - Not something I´ll wear – ever – but seen all over the catwalk and blogs. It´s super-popular! Buy it in a neutral colour with a biker jacket or just a t-shirt stuffed inside.
5. Colored shoes - spice up the outfit with an awesome, bright colour on your shoes! If you but some coloured socks in too, you´ll look fun and trendy.
6. Lace – Such a romatic trend, and goes with everything. For a party; little black skirt with a lace blouse tucked in, smoky eyes and you´re ready. If you want to go for the more romantic style you can tone down the make-up and maybe buy a lace-dress.
7. Nailpolish - In pastel or in super-bright colours is a must-have. Orange, purple, pink – everything´s allowed. A bright coloured lip-stick too, maybe?
